It is rightly said that “the secret of sound education is to get each pupil to learn himself/herself.” Education is not just through books. It is a process of learning through a practical approach. The boys of Class VII of Vignan Steel City Public school, Duvvada attended a 5-day scout camp from 19th November 2022, organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides, National youth adventure camp, Haryana. 

The camp was headed by scoutmaster P. Kishan. The purpose of the camp was to help the kids develop physically, intellectually, socially, and spiritually. It was all about building confidence, self-esteem, leadership skills, life skills, team building, and unity. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and made it a memorable experience for themselves.

Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement by the Pre-primary kids of Vignan Steel City Public school, Duvvada. The pre-preparations included various games and sports for the tiny tots. The highlight of the event was the Fancy dress contest with the theme of Animals around us and Our Community Helpers. The children came dressed in their favorite animal characters and enacted their roles. This helped them understand the animals and their habitats. 

Some others came dressed as Community Helpers such as doctors, teachers, engineers, farmers, police, astronauts, etc, and enacted their roles. This activity not only helped the kids understand the importance of these helpers but also created a sense of gratitude towards them and most importantly appreciation of the dignity of labor. The icing on the cake was a grand picnic arranged by the school, which made this event an unforgettable one.

Everything around us is an array of colors. Green is the most common color in the natural world, it’s the color of nature expressing renewal, life, and energy.

In order to teach our children about the uses of colors in their immediate environment and to help them to develop an understanding of green color in many forms, Vignan Steel City Public school, Duvvada organized Green Colour Day for the Pre-primary kids.

All the students came dressed up in different shades of green and the classes became vibrant with the beautiful green backgrounds.  Students were taught the identification and recognition of green vegetables, leaves, trees, and various green objects. A show and tell activity was held in the classes in which children were encouraged to show green vegetables and fruits and speak a few lines on the same. 

A grand display of green objects was on display to make the children understand better. Children also took part with great enthusiasm in leaf painting and displaying. The celebration of the green color day provided an opportunity for the little kids about a practical learning experience and it was very enjoyable.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Vignan Steel City Public school,  Duvvada, organized Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on 31st October 2022. The event started with a special assembly where our principal madam along with staff members administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge and explained to the students about the life and contribution of Sardar Patel to our nation. 

It was then followed by the “Unity Run” which included all the children, teaching staff, and some parents headed by the Principal madam and the school band. Apart from various activities,  speech and debate competitions were also conducted as part of this glorious event. The children participated with great enthusiasm and made it a grand event.

The celebration of Diwali at Vignan Steel City Public school, Duvvada started with a special assembly of lighting the lamp by our beloved principal madam, and offering prayers to Maa Lakshmi. It was then followed by a host of activities which included speeches about Diwali, a skit depicting the history and importance of Diwali, and uncountable dance numbers by the children.

The whole school wore a festive look with diyas, lanterns, and rangoli everywhere. All the students participated in Diya making and classroom decorating.  The kids had a wonderful time sharing sweets and exchanging wishes with each other and made this celebration a memory to cherish.

As part of the Eastern Naval Fleet Visit, warships namely INS Airavat, where the armor of ballistic vessels and soldiers are stationed were open for visit by children at Visakhapatnam on Oct 18, 2022.

The event had an overwhelming response with over 50 students. The students were taken on a guided tour of the ships and briefed about the diverse weapons and equipment fitted onboard.

Naval officer Captain. Subham Singh, Officer S.Ashok, Aniket V. Patne, Sambhu Singh, Suryakanta Mallik, and A.K.Stomar motivated students to join the Indian Navy. The event was successful and so informative to all the students who visited.

The Pre-primary kids of Vignan Steel City Public school, Duvvada, celebrated Blue Day on 15/10/2022. It was a pleasant and cool blue day for the tiny tots.

Excitement and enthusiasm were visible everywhere. All the children came dressed up in different shades and hues of blue. The classrooms were decorated with blue balloons and children were introduced to different shades of blue. An array of blue-colored objects were on display thus providing the students with opportunities to have a clear sense of the color and its importance.

Early identification of colors helps to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words which is an important part of a child’s development. It was indeed a visual treat to see the good effects of blue color on our little ones.

As part of the Dussehra celebrations, the teachers of Vignan Steel City Public school, Duvvada arranged a team lunch in the school with all homemade delicacies. Teachers prepared various dishes and had a nice time spending and sharing with each other, which was a breath of fresh air after the hustle-bustle of examinations.

Delicacies like Chole- poori, Poha cutlet, Sabudana Vada, Biryani, Mix Veg 65, Sambhar, Payasam, Sweets, etc are some of the highlights of the festive celebration. The event was so successful that students enjoyed it a lot.

India is known as a land of festivals and celebrations, Dussehra is one of them which is unique in its perception and significance. Festivals are an expressive way to celebrate our glorious heritage, culture, and traditions.

To enhance that among our little ones, Vignan Steel City Public school, Duvvada, organized fun-filled activities for the Dussehra celebration which included fancy dress by the kindergarten where children were beautifully dressed up as their favorite mythological characters from Ramayana.

The cultural celebrations included a skit about Devi Durga’s different avatars. Children who enacted these roles were perfect in their poise, confidence, and expression. Children of all classes performed Dandiya in various forms.

The celebration was a part of our philosophy of ‘learning by doing. Children learned values of honesty, respect, humility, and obedience, which are the core values of our Indian epic, Ramayana

All the children enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the celebration. Thus the celebration not only enriched their learning but also made it memorable to be cherished for a long time.

Vignan’s World one school always focuses on providing the best education and learning opportunities to students. The school conducted a field trip to Indira Gandhi Zoological Park for class 12 girls on 21st September 2022. The main motive of this trip was to provide knowledge and a deep understanding of the topics of Zoology.

The students were very excited to see the different animals and learn about their ecology. The trip was a great success and  Vignan’s World one school is looking forward to more such trips in the future.
